Post 16 Assessments and Exams

Assessments and exams are a crucial aspect of Post 16 subject areas and allow teachers to effectively monitor the progress, knowledge and understanding of students in their subject areas.

Assessments will take place throughout the year across subjects, with frequency varying from course to course. Each subject will provide students with dates for these assessments in advance of them taking place. These will help formulate reports for students, which will be sent home to parents via School Comms. These reports will provide information on the grade that students are working at and an effort grade.

There are specified times of the year where more formal exams take place, so that students have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding in exam style environments. The details of these exams are below, alongside the reporting cycles for each year group.
