Post 16 Enrichment
Every Friday ALL students choose an enrichment activity to be involved with. These change on a termly basis and give the students an opportunity to try a range of activities outside of their normal studies!
There are a range of additional clubs together with subject specific enrichment with over 200 enrichment opportunities offered last year to Post 16 students!
All students in year 12 are given the option of studying an Extended Project Qualification with a title of their choice. Year 12 students are also expected to volunteer for 1 hour per week. This is normally school based with students involved in peer mentoring of younger students, reading mentors and other volunteering opportunities around school.
Our fitness suite is open every night for Post 16 use and we provide lunchtime enrichment of Football, Basketball and Book Club – 3 lunchtimes a week.
International Trips and Visits
Every year, we run a ski trip to the USA, which takes place in New Hampshire for 5 full days of skiing and ends with a 2 night stay in New York City. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to experience some of the best ski conditions in the USA, with tuition and equipment provided for all levels from first timers to the slopes to advanced skiers. Students also get the chance to spend time in the iconic New York City where they will see all of the major sights, including a trip to the top of the Empire State Building to see a panoramic view of the City. This is always a popular trip and one that students look forward to immensely. Search #GASki2024 on twitter to see some of the highlights from our last trip.
We are also please to announce that we will be offering a Biology and Geography focussed trip to South Africa in February 2026. More details to follow!
