As we approach Christmas and start to enjoy all the festivities of the season, it is nice to think about what we might receive. But we should also think about what we can give.
Not everyone is lucky like us. When we open our presents and tuck in to a turkey dinner on Christmas Day, spare a thought for those who won’t receive any gifts or have any festive food.
An altruistic act – like giving to someone less fortunate than you – is really good for YOUR well-being too, as you are being charitable and showing you care. So we are giving you the opportunity to “play Santa” and take part in the Reverse Advent Calendar Appeal.
The “ins and outs”:
•In return for you bringing in non-perishable goods, smellies and/or gifts, your form tutor will reward you with a good comment (for helping others).
•All donations are to be handed in to your tutor, then brought to the Geography work room next door to room 95 (in the English/Humanities block).
•And you can feel good about doing something kind for someone else.
•We appreciate things are a lot harder for more people at the moment due to the cost of living crisis, so please only give what your family can afford.
•All food and gifts will be given to families in and around the Garforth area.
