Every year the Furniture Makers Association asks schools to nominate a winner in school for the Young Furniture Makers Award. This year the award for Garforth was won by Megan Hill; for her bass guitar holder, which was part of her Product Design coursework. The department choose Megan because her work involved the use of different materials and a variety of manufacturing techniques; and the accuracy of her is excellent and the department believe that Megan approached a genuine problem and solved it in a very creative way. The work was inspired by the form of an anchor to create a symmetrical piece in a contemporary/bauhaus style.
